How it works

1. Tell us your crew.

Headcount and who's in it — mixed group, all guys, all women, or kids plus adults.

2. Pick a vibe and budget.

Funny, classic, spooky, pop-culture, or last-minute. Under $20, $20–40, or go all in.

3. Get matching sets.

Every result fits your whole group. Copy the checklist, drop it in the chat, let the votes roll in.

Why this beats a Pinterest board

You know the drill. Someone drops a Pinterest link, forty ideas later nobody agrees, and it's October 28th. This tool flips the order: you put in your real limits first — how many people, how much money, how much effort — and only see ideas that fit all three.

Every result is sized for groups. No more falling for a "cute group costume" that's really a couples costume with three extra hats. Each set tells you exactly what each person wears and roughly what it costs them.

When you've picked a winner, hit copy and paste the checklist into your group chat. Everyone knows what to buy. Nobody has to think about it again.

Questions people ask

Is this really free?

Yes. The matcher is free and you don't need an account. If you buy a costume through one of our links, we may earn a small commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you.

How many people can be in the group?

Anywhere from 2 to 12+. Pick your headcount and every result will fit your whole group — we won't show you a five-person idea when you've got eight people.

Do you sell the costumes?

No. We show you what each person needs to wear and link out to retailers where you can buy the pieces. Prices are ranges we check regularly, but the retailer's page is always the final price.

How current are the ideas?

We review and refresh the idea list around Halloween planning season, and we update price ranges when we spot meaningful changes. Retailer pages are still the final source for live price, stock, and sizing.

Can I use this for an office party or trunk-or-treat?

Yes. Set your vibe and budget, and use the scene pages — office party, family, and last-minute — for picks that fit the room. For a trunk-or-treat, the family page is the closest starting point.

Sources & methodology

  • Prices: per-person ranges are checked by our editorial team against retailer listings (price checked: Oct 2026). The retailer's page is always the final source for live price, stock, sizing, and delivery dates.
  • How picks are made: every theme in our dataset is tagged by headcount range, role count, difficulty, and per-person budget. Pages on this site filter that dataset — we do not scrape live retailer feeds, and commission never decides the ranking.
  • Disclosure: some outbound links are paid links — read our Affiliate Disclosure. Our disclosure wording follows the US FTC's Disclosures 101 for Social Media Influencers.
  • Machine readability: this site publishes a plain-text summary for AI crawlers at llms.txt; crawler access rules live in robots.txt, consistent with documented AI-crawler conventions such as OpenAI's crawler documentation.
